At SRL, you work directly with your adviser — not a call center, not a junior associate, not an algorithm. Our team combines deep expertise in investment management, pension consulting, Social Security strategy, Medicare planning, and employee benefits — covering the full spectrum of financial complexity that families and businesses face.

Alex Petronella joined SRL in January 2019, bringing with him deep expertise in areas that sit at the intersection of personal finance and employee benefits — Social Security planning, Medicare and supplement products, group benefits consulting, and retirement plan advisory.
Alex works with individuals navigating Social Security timing decisions and Medicare enrollment, as well as with businesses seeking guidance on group health insurance, employee benefits design, and workplace retirement plans. Mr. Petronella is actively involved in the sale of group benefits and insurance, primarily business benefits such as health insurance, and may occasionally sell personal insurance and Medicare supplements. He may receive commissions from those sales, which presents a conflict of interest. He is supervised by Howard Stolzer, CCO, at (732) 481-0649.
Alain Van Loo brings Strategic Business Consulting services to SRL, deepening our knowledge of capital markets and business operations. He is a key member of our investment committee, contributing institutional-grade perspective on global markets and business strategy to the benefit of SRL clients.
With more than 25 years of experience across global business and capital markets in both the US and Europe, Alain has served as a portfolio manager and strategist, and as a Chief Investment Officer working with family office services. He brings exceptional ideas and guidance to business owners looking to plan for their business needs and maximize the potential embedded in their businesses.
While Alain does not provide retail investment advice to clients, he is uniquely positioned to help grow what is often a business owner's largest asset — the business itself. Alain is also the founder and owner of Assetive, a strategic growth consulting firm.
Alain serves SRL in a strategic consulting capacity and as a member of the investment committee. He does not provide retail investment advice directly to SRL clients. Strategic business consulting services are separate from SRL's registered investment advisory services.
How we work together
At SRL there are no hand-offs to junior staff or automated systems. You know your adviser, they know your situation, and they are directly accountable to you.
Howard and Alex cover the full spectrum of personal and business financial needs — from portfolio management and pension consulting to Social Security timing, Medicare, and employee benefits — so your financial picture is addressed comprehensively.
Both advisers disclose potential conflicts of interest openly. Where insurance commissions may apply, that is stated clearly — and we never charge advisory fees on the same assets where a commission has been received.
